Life Goes On, Even When There's No More Fermented Cabbage

Korea would most readily disagree with that statement, so don't tell them I said that.

Welcome to my new interim blog and continuation of "Hello! from Hannam". As all of you know, our time in Korea has come to an end. I realize I never wrote a proper last chapter to the other blog and I will try to give a final farewell to the country we called home for the last eight months on this new one. However, I want to thank everyone who read my musings from the other side of the world. I hope you all enjoyed the pictures and I hope you got a little insight into what it's like to live abroad. Korea, we will miss you! Your national dish of kimchi we will not.

As for the current state of the Peterson household, RCP is on the run in Europe, trying to stay an expat until mid-June to avoid writing a check to the IRS. It's all legal, I promise, and actually not too bad of a problem to have. So how does one solve this problem?....Go on vacation....anywhere in the world, outside of the U.S.

And out of the entire world, we chose Italy. Amazing food, warm and generous people, the Roman Empire, great works of art, amazing land and seascapes....do we really need to justify it? It's Italy! RCP took up refuge in Holland about a week ago with our dear friend from New York, Marco Mazzonetto, an Italian living and working in Amsterdam. The two have currently hopped over to Barcelona for the weekend and then RCP will head onto Milan where we will rendezvous on Sunday. So we will spend the next 5 weeks traveling throughout, ending up in Capri. I suppose it's a true Roman holiday. Alla vita dolce! Here's to the sweet life...of forced vacations.

Caio!
